Vacuuming a hound? Dimond Willow and Molly would never allow it. Vacuuming a bloodhound? Hmmmm. I don't know how or why Gus suddenly decided that this was okay, but who am I to question him? I will just enjoy it as long as he decides to humor me.

- I have 3 hounds: a Treeing Walker Coonhound named Dimond Willow, a Bluetick Coonhound named Molly and a Bloodhound named Gus. Gus is my blog buddy. He is a 100 pound, 3 year old liver and tan bloodhound. Gus has various nicknames: pee-hound, slobber-hound, tweedle-dumb. As a pup he was mostly known as "Satan in a Puppy Suit."

Wow. Mom keeps telling us that she used to vacuum her old St. Bernard... Me and Bernie do not do vacuums on any level. We hear it coming and take right off! I'm not shedding much, but Bernie has chronic "buffalo butt". Mom brushed him yesterday and had enough fur to create a third dog.
Haha! We always accuse Gus of growing guinea pigs in his crate during the day. But Dimond is our worst. That dog drops hair nonstop. My whole house is covered in white hair. ALL year long. What's really interesting, though, is that Dimond loves the hair dryer! She used to push the girls away when they were little so she could get the heat! But I can't get anywhere near her with the vacuum. Crazy dog.
Gus was probably comfortable and decided not to give up prime couch real estate. Seriously, why else would one of us let you vacuum him?
